It’s common courtesy to introduce yourself! My name is Abdel. I’m currently working in IT for one of the leading publication companies in the UK.
For the past 4 years I have worked as a Service Desk Analyst, I’ve recently moved to an application support role. As a result of this I’m closer to a coding job as I have to reverse engineer scripts.
My Service desk role included:
- Answering Calls,
- Logging tickets,
- Troubleshooting client issues,
- Providing desk side and remote support,
- Providing support for Exec/VIP clients,
- Overseeing the training and onboarding of new Service Desk analysts,
- Migrating legacy hardware at remote sites, maintaining stability with older systems,
- Dealing with escalated issues on MacOs based systems.
What Makes Me Tick?
When I’m not working or learning to code, you can find me in the gym. Working out has become an important staple in my life as it helps keep me active in a sedentary profession.
This also helped me battle my obesity problem as I used to weigh over 115kg. That’s around 18.11 stone or 253lbs. Now, I weigh around 80-70kg, as a result of my training.
This helped me to broaden my horizons, I picked up Thai kick boxing despite never partaking in a sport before and redoubled my efforts to learn to code amongst other things such as experimenting with my appearance, becoming more sociable and living a more proactive life.
As of this moment I’m still learning to write more effective blogs, if you want to get to know me better I’m always happy to have a chat, feel free to follow me on Twitter and we can talk!
